Full=GTP cyclohydrolase III; EC=3.5.4.29; |
|
FUNCTION: Catalyzes the formation of 2-amino-5-formylamino-6-ribofuranosylamino-4(3H)-pyrimidinone ribonucleotide monophosphate and inorganic phosphate from GTP. Also has an independent pyrophosphate phosphohydrolase activity (By similarity).
CATALYTIC ACTIVITY: GTP + 3 H(2)O = 2-amino-5-formylamino-6-(5-phosphoribosylamino)pyrimidin-4(3H)-one + 2 phosphate.
SIMILARITY: Belongs to the archaeal-type GTP cyclohydrolase family.
GO:0016814; Molecular function: hydrolase activity, acting on carbon-nitrogen (but not peptide) bonds, in cyclic amidines.
